Search and destroy missions

Ronald was there when the Infantry would go through towns and kill anyone because they had no idea who was in the Viet Cong. This was hard for not only Ron to deal with but many others but when destroying those villages, you could help but find objects that made those that were killed “human again.” Those that were killed would have their bodies stacked at the outside of town to let them know that they had been there. This was not only a scare tactic to get the Vietcong and North Vietnamese to retreat, but it left a lasting effect on the American soldiers that witnessed the killed and/or saw the bodies piled up. There were women, men, and children that were all being killed during these raids. This was one of the traumatic events that would cause to deal with PTSD.
