The Draft of Ronald C. Redding
Ronald C. Redding was drafted for the Vietnam war in 1969. He started his journey in Washington state at Fort Lewis for basic training. This fort was named after the famous Meriwether Lewis of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Ronald Was from the 25th infantry division and the 94th maintenance group.his division was deployed to South Vietnam. it was in the same month that Ronald was drafted that the news broke on the secret bombing of Cambodia. It was just two days after that President Nixon gave his first televised speech. he spoke of his peace plan. America would start to slowly pull out over the next year. However, this would be rejected by Hanoi.
