Adolf Eichmann

Adolf Eichmann, Nazi SS lieutenant colonel, responsible for the transportation of European Jews to concentration camps.  His role in the Holocaust resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Eurpean Jews.  Eichmann was captured by Americans after the war, then later escaped using forged papers under the alias "Otto Eckmann".  Living on the run in Europe for a few years before obtaining a passport to Argentina in 1948. Under a new alias, "Ricardo Klement", landing in Buenos Aires, Argentina 1950.  While living in Argentina Eichmann found work for a Mercedes-Benz factory.  Eichmann was tracked down by survivors of the Holocaust, known as "Nazi Hunters", they vowed to track down Eichmann and other Nazis.  He was tracked down and plucked right off the street in May 1960 and extradited to Jerusalem.  There he stood trial for his war crimes and was hanged in 1962.

Josef Mengele; The Angel of Death

Josef Mengele, Nazi SS officer and physician in Auschwitz concentration camp.  Dr. Mengele began work at Auschwitz in early 1943-1945.  Nicknamed "Angel of Death", while at Auschwitz, he would decide who would be sent directly to gas chambers and which prisoners he would use to conduct his deadly experiments.  Most notably his interest with identical twins, dwarfs, and people with physical abnormalities.  These prisoners would be Mengele's guinea pigs; he could perform whatever bizarre and cruel experiment he pleased.  Typically, his subjects would die from the experiments and those that survived, were often terminated anyways. Mengele was personally responsible for the deaths of an unknown number of victims that he killed via lethal injection, shootings, beatings, and through selections and deadly experiments.  June, 1945 Mengele, along with other doctors from his unit at Auschwitz were captured by the Americans.  Mengele was able to escape by obtaining false papers under the name "Fritz Ullman", and assisted by a network of former SS members sailed to Argentina July, 1949. Living in Buenos Aires for several years and receiving Argentine ID card under his real name (pictured).  Mengele facing extradition by West German authorities in 1960, fled to Paraguay and evading capture until his death in 1979.

Eduard Roschmann, the “Butcher of Riga”

Eduard Roschmann, Nazi SS officer, who masterminded the death of over 40,000 Latvian Jews in its capital of Riga between 1941-44.  Roschmann happen to evade capture after the war, concealing himself as a prisoner; He was released in 1947.  Fleeing to Genoa, Italy Roschmann obtained a passport to Argentina by the International Red Cross and arrived in Argentina 1948.  Roschmann started a wood export/import business in Buenos Aires before marrying and becoming a citizen under a new alias "Federico Wegener"1968(ID Picture).  Roschmann escaped extradition many times before his body was discovered in Asuncion, Paraguay 1977.
