Nose Art
The pin-up girl became very famous during WWII, appearing not just in magazines but also on government property (airplanes). These women symbolized what the soldiers were fighting for back home and provided a morale booster; something to lust after. This nose art is replicated on airplanes to this day as a way to relive the glory days.
