Ribbons and Medals
From Left to Right:
Purple Heart:
- Awarded in the name of the president to those wounded or killed while serving (post April 1917).
Navy and Marine Corps Commendations Medal:
- A mid-level United States military decoration which is presented for sustained acts of heroism.
Navy Good Conduct Medal with one bronze star:
- Exemplary behavior, efficiency, and fidelity in active Federal Military service. The bronze star signifies that Mirabelli recieved this award twice.
From Left to Right:
Vietnam Service Medal:
- for US military personel who served in the Vietnam "Theater of Operations" after July 3, 1965 to March 28, 1973.
Gallantry Cross with Palm:
- Rewards acts of valor or heroic conduct during a conflict with an armed enemy and given by the Republic of Vietnam.
Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Medal with Palm:
- Awarded to the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces and foreign military personnel or units that performed outstanding achievements in the field of civil actions.
United Nations Korean Service Medal Ribbon:
- Awarded to those for service on behalf of the United Nations in Korea during the Korean Conflict.
Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60- device:
- This was established by the government of the Republic of Vietnam and authorized for award to members of the United States Armed Forces by the DOD.
From Left to Right:
China Service Medal:
- Awarded for service in China during the periods just prior to and just following World War II.
Navy Occupation Service Medal:
- This was awarded for thirty consecutive days of service in occupied zones following World War II.
National Defense Service Medal:
- This is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces for any honorable active federal service during the Korean War, Vietnam War, and/or Desert Storm.
Korean Service Medal:
- Awarded for service between June 27, 1950 and July 27, 1954 in the Korean theater of operations.
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal:
- This medal recognizes major actions not otherwise covered by a specific campaign medal.
