Title

Beer Bottle left at the Wall.

Description

A bottle of San Miguel Pale Pilsen beer, along with a letter, left at the Wall in 1990. The letter, originally enclosed in the bottle, is addressed to U.S. Army Specialist 4 (SP4) James Malcolm Arbuthnot.

Dated as 19 October, the letter contains:

"For James Malcolm Arbuthnot / Spec 4 United State [sic] Army / 05 Nov 46 - 30 Mar 66", is signed, "Peace. / Love, / Don George / E-3 (Airman) United States Navy / 17 Mar 67 - 03 Dec 70".
While the letter expresses regret at not being able to share a beer together, it also asks the friend to remember "all the San Miguel bottles of beer that we drank while going to high school at the American School in Makati, Rizal, Republic of the Philippines during the 60's".
