I've had people say you're a hero and thanked me for my service because I did serve in our military. But in my mind there are, and always will be, definite and important differences and distinctions between the type of service various members of the military provided. A person like me served and I am very proud of that fact but the true heroes are those who served in combat, faced the enemy in live fire, the wounded and especially those that gave the supreme sacrifice. I don't feel slighted in the least if these combat veterans and fallen heroes receive more accollades than me, they deserve to be remembered for the true sacrifices they made. I had a job and I did it to the best of my ability - that was all.
